·         Are cameras illegal? Some organisations are claiming that up to 90% of cameras in the UK are not legal. We take a look at the arguments and see if they really hold water.

·         Rooms with a View: case studies of control rooms and CCTV systems around the country

·         Hounslow: The London Borough of Hounslow has gone wireless. The majority of its 170+ cameras are coming back to the control room via wireless links. We visit their new control room and speak to the CCTV manager, consultant (Cognetix) and lead contractor (Tyco Integrated Systems) to find out more.

·         Ireland: We visit the Douglas Village Shopping Centre in Cork to find out how Milestone and Axis software and hardware is enabling the team to provide better security and improve the management of the centre.

·         Brecklands: Further to our news item in the last issue of the magazine, and sooner than expected, we are visiting this system to find out how they are using wireless cameras to cover five towns.

·         Technology – Video Transmission: Round up of the latest options in video transmission.

·         Technology: Seeing in the Dark – Round up of technologies to help with night time surveillance, including infrared cameras, low-light cameras, IR lighting and white lighting.

·         Good news CCTV – We’re looking for examples of how CCTV has prevented, detected or solved crime. The best stories – published or unpublished – should demonstrate how people including operators, police or members of the public used CCTV.
